Committee of Highland Dancing Inc.
The Far North Queensland Regional Committee of Highland Dancing Inc is a not-for-profit organisation, administering Highland Dancing in Far North Queensland from Mackay to Mossman and west to Mount Isa.
The Objects of FNQRCHDI
- To bring about cooperation between recognised associations, studios and individuals interested in highland dancing;
- To advance the technique of highland dancing and recognised associated dances and to ensure as far as possible that all teachers teach the correct technique as set by the Royal Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing;
- To carry out the rules of the Royal Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing and the Australian Board of Highland Dancing Incorporated subject to such modification as may be necessary to meet local conditions;
- To encourage the conduct of competitions, Scottish National Dance Premierships, and Championships in North Queensland in a proper manner;
- To ensure that all competitions in North Queensland are registered with the association and that Scottish National Dance Premierships, and Championships are registered with the Australian Board of Highland Dancing Incorporated; and
- To encourage and preserve highland dancing in its traditional form.

PROCEDURE FOR REGISTERING A COMPETITION
Competition Results
Competition Organisers are required to send a list, in alphabetical order, of all Beginner, Novice and Intermediate dancers, including Registration Numbers, to the Dancer Registrar of the State/Regional Committee within 2 weeks of the date of the competition. This list should be marked showing prize winners who have had their cards marked. For Intermediate dancers, it should include all prize winners and note which Intermediate dancers have had their card marked.
Competition Organisers will also be required to send a completed program showing all results at the competition to the Dancer Registrar.
Note: Only 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes are counted in the registration scheme. Beginner dancers do not have cards marked for Scottish Lilt or Flora McDonald’s Fancy
